Great First Day with JHU Brazil Course

A great first day with the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Global Immersion Course I am leading here in Sao Paulo. After nine hours of coursework in Baltimore, we are now engaging Brazil with the goal of learning how to adapt to local market conditions to succeed in this increasingly important market.  Our day began with a lecture I gave on cultural awareness.  We received a wonderful presentation by Brian Brisson, Senor Commercial Officer for Brazil from the U.S. Consulate and then toured BOVESPA, Latin America's largest exchange.

What was most interesting about tour of BOVESPA is that most of its development has been in the last few years.  It has only been in recent decades that Brazil has whipped the plague of hyperinflation to allow a focus on long term investment. Brazil has come such a long way in a short time. Being here makes one more bullish on Brazil.
